The Dream Farm

After buying a small farm and home for his young family, my grandpa decided to expand by purchasing a nearby quarter section (160 acres) of land from the BLM. The property was covered in greasewoods growing in hard alkaline soil, so when his brother saw it, he said “If you think you’re going to make a farm out of this you’ve got to be dreaming.” So, on top of his existing farm work, my grandpa cleared the property and treated and plowed, and plowed and treated the salty soil until it became and continues to be one of the most productive fields in the valley, aka, the Dream Farm.
